This preliminary examination is a crucial component of the 2023 Assistant Town Planner Recruitment Examination. Its primary objective is to identify eligible candidates for entry into the Assistant Town Planner Examination (Main) in 2023.

Introduction 

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (PSC), headquartered in Prayagraj, is inviting online applications, following the prescribed format, for Government Job positions in the Urban Development Department of the Government of Uttar Pradesh. These vacancies will be filled through the UPPSC Assistant Town Planner Recruitment Examination in 2023.  Final candidate selection will depend on their combined scores in the Main (written) examination and the interview. Educational Qualification

The applicants should have a Master’s Degree in Town Planning/  M.Tech in Civil Engineering or another equivalent degree to apply for UPPSC Assistant Town Planner Recruitment 2023.

Method of Selection

The selection methodology will comprise a three-stage process – Written Test (two papers), Skill Test (if required), Group Discussion & Personal Interview followed by Medical Examination in Executive/Technical category.

Written Test

The written test will consist of two papers (Paper-I and Paper-II, to be held on the same day in the same centre). 

Paper-I will consist of multiple-choice objective type questions, bilingual Hindi/English), on General Awareness, Logical Ability, Quantitative Aptitude and/ knowledge of the discipline/trade. There will be a total of 120 questions, each carrying equal marks. There will be negative marking. For every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted. The Paper-I shall be of 1.5 hours duration.

Paper-II will consist of objective type questions on General English to judge the knowledge of English language. There will be a total of 60 questions, each carrying equal marks. There will be negative marking. For every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted. The Paper-II shall be of 45 minutes’ duration.

Candidates who qualify in Paper-I and rank high on the merit list within the zone of consideration, as decided by the DMRC, will only be evaluated for Paper-II. Successful candidates based on the Written Test (Both Paper-I & Paper-II put together) shall be called for Personal Interview/GD/skill

test, at Delhi/NCR.  

Fee

A fee of Rs 400/- for unreserved persons and Rs 50/- for reserved category candidates would be charged through bank challan.

Selection Process

A written exam would held and interview of successful candidates would be conducted by PIB at respective command Head quarters. After that candidate would be selected for SSB Interview at any center for SSB in India.

Written exam would comprise of two section. Section I Short Essay in English on any current topic. Section II: would comprise of objective type questions of General Knowledge, current affairs, political and economical affairs. No negative marking.

Physical Standard : Height and Weight: Minimum height : 162.5 cms with correlated weight, Leg Length : Min - 99 cms. Max - 120 cms.Thigh Length : Max - 64 cms. Sitting Height : Min - 81.5 cms. Max - 96 cms.
(ii) Vision: (a) Minimum Visual Acuity 6/6 in one eye and 6/9 in other, correctable to 6/6 only for

Selection Procedure

Candidates have to fill online application All applicants whose online applications have been successfully submitted will be called for Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT) (applicable only for candidates applying for technical branch) to be conducted on 22 February 2015 (Sunday) at one of the examination centers mentioned below. Candidates will be required to login to their candidate login account regularly for information on AFCAT, EKT (if applicable) and AFSB testing . The AFCAT will be of two hours duration and will contain multiple choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness and military aptitude.

Candidates shortlisted after test would be called for further testing, which would comprises of three stages. ) Stage-I Test consisting of Intelligence Test along with other tests will be conducted on the first day. Stage-I test is a screening test and only those who qualify would undergo subsequent testing.

 Stage-II testing consisting of Psychological test, Group Tests and Interview will be conducted on 

subsequent days (Five Days).
